I was out all day on Graduation Day, with my 7 year old, almost 3 year old and my 4 week old, and I am mostly EBFing my wee one, so naturally I was Bfing in public...eek! ;)
I wouldn't do it with my first, but I did with my second, and will do it wherever/whenever the need arises, with no apologies for my last. No one said boo to me on Saturday, but I'm sure some folks would have if they didn't see the "mommy has not slept in 6 weeks death glare" and the baby fussing or about to be fussing sitting in my lap.
I'm sure someday this won't be a big deal, but until we make having babies and taking them out in the world not such a taboo, breastfeeding in public will still be seen as a strange concept for people. And no, I don't hide in bathrooms anymore.
Ahh the days of breast feeding! I have a story about that! On the day of my release from the hospital with my first born child I had to run by the grocery store to grab some things on the way home. Well my son decided he was hungry as we were going through the check out. I was so full of milk that even the pads didn't hold it. As I was checking out... Both sides started squirting all over the check stand! The young man checking me out looked at me in horror! All I could to is hurry him to give me my change and ran out the door as fast as I could while trying to hold one arm over my breasts and push the cart with the other! Glad those days are over!
